CERTIFIED SERVICES PARTNER
Canvas, Set Up Around How Your Organization Actually Trains
Learning Advisers is a Canvas Certified Services Partner. Your Canvas licence comes through us at Instructure’s pricing, and we do the work around it — implementation, migration, administrator training and support — for universities, schools and companies.
WHAT THAT MEANS
Certified by Instructure to Do the Work, Not Just Sell the Licence
Instructure runs two kinds of channel partner. Resellers sell licences. Certified Services Partners are certified to deliver the work around them — and that is what we are.
Implementation, training and support
The core services the certification covers. Getting Canvas configured, getting your people able to run it, and being there afterwards when something needs changing.
Migration and change management
Moving from an existing platform is rarely just a data transfer. It is also persuading an organization to change how it does something it already does. Both are part of the certified scope.
Instructional design
Certification covers the design of the learning itself, not only the system it sits in — which is the difference between a platform full of courses and a platform full of courses people finish.
WHY CANVAS
A Platform Your People Will Recognize
Canvas is Instructure’s learning platform. It runs at more than 8,000 institutions across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, with around 30 million active participants. Roughly 41 percent of US higher education runs on it, which means a good share of the people you hire have already used it.
Built on open standards, not a closed box
Canvas is built to LTI 1.3, so the tools you already run connect to it rather than being replaced. Instructure operates a certified integration program that reviews each integration against those standards before it carries the badge.
A short learning curve for the people using it
Adoption is where most platforms fail. When a large share of your new hires met Canvas at university, the training on how to take training mostly disappears.
Built to be configured, not just switched on
Canvas Career carries configurable branding and role-based permissions, so one platform can serve employees, partners and customers from a single hub, with each audience seeing only what applies to it.
WHAT WE DO
What a Partner Does That a License Does Not
Buying Canvas gets you Canvas. Getting it running the way your organization trains is the part that takes people who have done it before.
Getting it running
Implementation
Configured around your roles, your training plan and your reporting needs, rather than handed over at defaults.
Migration
Courses, learner records and completion history moved across from whatever you run today.
Change management
The rollout plan, the internal comms and the administrator handover, so adoption is designed rather than hoped for.
Branding
Your logo, colors and domain, so the platform reads as yours rather than as a vendor’s.
Integration
Connected to the systems the business already runs, through LTI and the Canvas API.
Filling it with something worth taking
Custom content built for you
The programs we write for you load into Canvas and run there from day one, alongside whatever you already have.
Custom content
The part of the job that is specific to you, written to your brief by verified subject experts.
Instructional design
Courses structured so they teach, assessed so completion means something, and sequenced so a role is covered end to end.
Standards-compliant
Everything we author meets SCORM, xAPI and cmi5, so it runs in Canvas and in any other compliant platform you move to.
Learning paths
Sequenced so a role is trained in the right order rather than handed a catalog.
Keeping it working
Administrator training
The people who will run the platform after we step back, trained to run it properly.
Reporting
Set up so proving a workforce is trained is a report rather than a chase.
Ongoing support
An adviser who knows your configuration, rather than a queue that does not.
HOW IT WORKS COMMERCIALLY
One Relationship, Not Two
You licence Canvas through us and you get the services from us. Instructure sets the licence pricing; we are the partner who makes it work.
Licensed through us, priced by Instructure
The subscription is Instructure’s product at Instructure’s pricing. What you get by coming through a partner is the implementation, the migration and the support around it — from people who are accountable for whether it works, not just for whether it was sold.
Three kinds of organization, three different problems
A university migrating from Blackboard, a school district rolling out to teachers, and a company building a skills framework are not the same project — and the last one is not even the same product. We have separate approaches for each rather than one deployment checklist.
Two products, and the difference matters
Canvas LMS and Canvas Career are separate products. Canvas LMS is the teaching platform universities and schools run on. Canvas Career is the workforce product, skills-first and integrated with HRIS and CRM systems. Buying the wrong one is the most common mistake we are asked to unpick, and we will tell you which fits before you commit rather than after.
Tell Us What You Are Running Now
Send an adviser what you train, who you train, and the platform you are on today. You will get back a straight assessment of what moving to Canvas would involve: what carries over, what has to be rebuilt, and what it would take.
