One of the best things about working in health or social care is you get to meet and work with some amazing people. And this includes people who may have some form of mental health condition, dementia, or learning disability.
No matter what condition someone may have, it's important that health and social care sector employees work together to remove any barriers that could prevent someone from living well with their condition. Underpinning this is the need to champion people's rights to independence at all times. Even if you do not directly work with people living with a condition, it is just as important that you are aware of how mental health issues may affect people, and that you can recognise the signs to look out for so that everyone can get the right support as soon as possible.
This course will help you to develop a better awareness of these conditions, and if you are going to be working more directly with people that have a mental health condition, dementia, or a learning disability, your employer will provide you with more in-depth and specific training to help provide the best support and meet people's individual needs.
